And now that you’ve got thousands of tonnes of locomotive at your disposal, you’ve got the definite advantage over the infected hordes. But it’s not quite over for you… at least, not yet. If you think you hit a brick wall, change your objectives.The world is over. The interface and much of the UI is ugly, but figuring out that world was a pleasure for me. If you decide to take it up, play as the merchant first, save often, and don't allocate your skill points until you know you need them.

The combat is brutal, the characters and their motives are all plausible, and the possible outcomes are intense. The game takes 5-8 hours to beat if you know what you're doing. If you want to experience life at the edges of a big broken puzzle, I'd recommend (with qualifications) - Age of Decadence. It's more linear narrative, experience driven - all of which is surreal/expressionist. In a similar vein, you might enjoy Kentucky Route Zero - its a surreal journey done in a polygonal retro art style. While there are choices that you can make, more than anything it's about a brutal march through winter. If you're into a vaguely retro graphics with a strong linear story, you might really enjoy Banner Saga.
